Regarding Item 7E1: I am a physician and volunteer for Sierra Club. The Sierra Club is in full support of this initiative to accept the grant to provide funding for the Air Quality Monitoring Network, which will allow improved monitoring of air quality especially in underserved communities. These communities suffer the worst effects of air pollution, causing exacerbations of asthma, heart disease and other health problems. Anything that the county can do to better understand the pollution levels will be beneficial to improving public health in these communities. Thank you for supporting this measure.
