    Dear Commissioners
I am a 25 year resident of this community. I am a retired executive and my wife is a retired doctor. We have no children or grandchildren in the community but we both believe strongly that this amendment to land use in the Wood Creek district should be granted for the long term benefit of Incline Village and its residents. The unique cultural and recreational features of the community can best be optimized with a diverse age mix of its residents, including younger active parents with children. Many of these are remote workers who represent dual wage earners. They need alternative channels of education for their children. Home schooling is not the answer for this and other cohorts. Public school curricula have been under a critical spotlight for good reason in the eyes of many parents. We don’t want Incline Village to default to a wealthy retirement home mentality. We’re far more vibrant than that.
So both my wife and I respectfully ask that you endorse this land use as an important opportunity for the community’s welfare.
    Thank You

I am concerned about the new Library Board chair. Her manner and lack of respect for the Library Director was very unprofessional. Who is responsible for training the Board Members? What sort of accountability do they have? The Commission appoints Board Members, and I am concerned about your appointment to fill the current vacancy. What criteria do you use? Is Board experience a factor? And do you consider balance in the membership? Which Commissioner has the Library Board in their purview? The minutes seem to be a transcription of the meeting without any editing. Former minutes were clear, succinct and summarized comments, rather than transcribing. For the entirety, one can go to the recording. The County Clerk does such a fine job with the Commission Meeting minutes; surely someone could mentor/train the minute takers for the Library Board. Thank you.
