5. Declaration of canvass of local results of General Election 2024 and direction to the Registrar of Voters to certify the abstract of the results and transmit a copy of the certified abstract to the Secretary of State.
Canvassing is the process by which local election results are declared, examined and certified. The canvass is a culmination of all the data generated during an election cycle. The canvass process aggregates and confirms every valid ballot cast and counted, including mail, uniformed and overseas citizen, electronically transmitted ballots, early voting, and Election Day ballots. NRS 293.387 requires the Board of County Commissioners to separately note any clerical errors discovered and take account of those errors, so the result declared represents the true vote cast.
Pursuant to NRS 293.387, the Board of County Commissioners is required to canvass the vote and direct an abstract of votes to be sent to the Secretary of State no later than 10 days following the election, which was held on November 5, 2024. Voters. (All Commission Districts.) FOR POSSIBLE ACTION
Certify the election results and send to the Secretary of State.
I am OVER election denial and respect the work election officials have been charged to complete.
I support certifying the election results in accordance with the legal requirements (NRS 293.387 https://nevada.public.law/statutes/nrs_293.387 ). I am grateful for the hard work and integrity of the Registrar of Voters and election workers, especially in light of the incredible stress, pressure and even harassment and threats they have been subject to.
As the canvassing process concludes, it is essential to certify the 2024 General Election results without delay. The Declaration of Canvass of Local Results serves as the official verification of every valid ballot cast and counted, covering mail, uniformed and overseas citizen ballots, early voting, and Election Day ballots. Completing this step is critical to ensure transparency and the public’s trust in the electoral process.
Pursuant to NRS 293.387, the Board of County Commissioners is required to review and address any clerical errors identified to ensure the final result accurately reflects the true vote cast by our community. This statute also mandates that the abstract of votes be certified and transmitted to the Secretary of State no later than 10 days after Election Day, which was held on November 5, 2024.
I urge the immediate certification and transmission of these results to comply with legal requirements and uphold the integrity of our democratic process.
Please execute your ministerial duty and certify the election results. I was an elections observer for the Count Room for 17 days and over 80 hours beginning Oct 21. As a public tax professional in Nevada, I work daily in the complexities of preserving the integrity of data and integrity of procedures under the law. I watched the Count Room with the same set of eyes, and the RoV staff complied with the law and properly completed their work. Please certify. Julie Morrison
I support the certifying of the election results. The election was conducted with integrity and all of the checks and balances were in place. Thanks to all who administered and worked this important election.
