The Commission will also hear public comment during individual action items, with comment limited to three minutes per person. Comments are to be made to the Commission as a whole.

The Board of County Commissioners carries out the business of Washoe County and its residents during its meetings. The presiding officer may order a person be removed if the person's conduct or statements disrupt the order or safety of the meeting. Warnings about disruptive conduct or comments may or may not be given prior to removal.
Furthermore, certain disruptions of a public meeting are criminal acts as defined under NRS 203.090 and/or NRS 203.119 which may result in prosecution in appropriate cases.
I am a homeowner and resident of District 4. I would like the Commissioners to grant to the Washoe County Library System dollars from the General Fund to compensate the allocation lost by the failure of WC-1 in the Nov 5 election. The wording of the measure was confusing and text in an official voting guide was inaccurate (this would not be a new tax!) The residents of Washoe County deserve a fully functioning library system. We need our libraries open week-ends and evenings. We need the access to new titles in all formats - books, ebooks, and audiobooks. We need access to the meeting rooms. We need the many events and programs sponsored by the library which reach out to all age groups and interests. We need access to technology. We need a safe environment for all residents. And we deserve the high quality staffing which is in place now. We do NOT need closures, cut hours, fewer books and events, staff layoffs. The library is crucial to the life and growth of the community. We can not thrive in a community darkened by the loss of robust library access. Thank you for your time.
My name is Sarah Molleck and my family lives close to the Northwest Reno library. We frequent this library often, not just to borrow books but for story time, community events, the play area, and games. We are already sad the NW Library closes at 4pm on Saturdays and wish it was open later. NW Library is right next to McQueen High and is a safe space where kids of all ages can enjoy, grow, and connect to their community. I fear that less funding will now be allocated to our libraries, and I respectfully ask the Commissioners to commit to directing the same amount - two cents per $100 of assessed property value - to the library system. By doing this, you are showing by your actions that you care for and are committed to the education, literacy, safety, and well-being of our community. Thank you.
