This meeting is about Northern Nevada Public Health. I would like to say that the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) through its Tahoe Area Plan Amendments is actively destroying the health and safety of residents and visitors of the Tahoe Area. Additionally, these amendments are destroying economic equality and significantly increasing economic inequality. There is ample and extremely educated public comment explaining in detail how and why. TRPA has put very little thought or consideration into this plan. Most Washoe County commissioners are not representing their constituents on this matter. The TRPA oversight committee has failed to address concerns of constituents as well. Nevada is losing when it comes to societal health, environmental health and economic health surrounding this issue as more and more people are commuting and there is a growing imbalance in society on all levels. The proposed amendments and head scratching policies coming out of the agencies are not solutions but are making the problem worse and the checks and balances of our local governments are a disgrace when leaders are on multiple boards and not fighting for their constituents. It is a very sad thing for locals and visitors of the Tahoe Area and the surrounding Reno/Carson City area are not immune as the workforce is being pushed further out, environmental pollution is increasing from commuters, infrastructure is worn down, and fire danger is growing from overtourism. I have lived here my whole life. I am witness to the decline. I have watched the exodus. I talk to people from all over the region and it is a depressing situation for everyone except those who have direct relationships with the government officials that are unethically benefitting.
