I am vehemently against Kate Thomas being appointed as County Manager. Kate has proven incapable of leading individual departments, let alone an entire county. Under her leadership several departments are in complete shambles: HSA has a director who is incompetent and does not communicate with his department employees; HHS has a director who was pushed out by Kate and the Human
resources department to try to cover up the fact that Dana Searcy was given carte blanche permission to spend tax payer money on things that have nothing to do with helping with homeless population. DAS is currently under federal investigation, and is now being dismantled to try to cover up that illegal activity. It is well known how poorly run and managed the Voters office is. And the courts are in complete shambles. What do all these departments have in common? They are under the purview of Kate Thomas. Kate is not here to try to help this community, but instead wants to enrich her own life with tax payer money while the citizens get left behind. She only wants to get three years under PERS with the title of County Manager so she can walk away with a huge lifetime pension. Please do not continue to harm this community’s most vulnerable population by allowing her to take the role of County Manager.
