On March 14, 2021, I was the victim of a pedestrian crash that occurred in Incline Village and forever changed my life.

I want to speak in strong support of the Incline Village Justice Court and, specifically, the people who work there. In the aftermath of the crash, I was traumatized, confused, and struggling physically and emotionally. The criminal case brought against the defendant was my only path to justice because the person who hit me with her SUV had no discoverable assets and bare bones insurance.

From the very beginning, the court employees treated me with professionalism, compassion, and humanity. They provided clear, timely information about the process. They patiently answered my questions, even when I asked them more than once because I was overwhelmed. They helped me understand what to expect and showed genuine care for my wellbeing. Their concern made an immense difference during one of the most challenging times in my life.

The staff not only aided me in navigating the legal system, but they also helped me find a sense of confidence and security when I felt vulnerable and confused. For victims like me, that kind of support matters deeply. It is not something that can be measured in a case docket or a report, but it is something that profoundly affects our healing and our faith in justice.

Thank you for listening and for recognizing the vital role this court and its dedicated staff play in serving the community.
