Recommendation to accept a fiscal year 2027 Office of Traffic Safety grant award [amount not to exceed $25,000.00, $6,250.00 County match required] as administered from the State of Nevada Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety, Federal FY 2027 project number 69A37525300004020NV0, to enhance traffic enforcement in school zones within the Washoe County School District; provide education to students on best practices for walking, bicycling, and using other modes of non-motorized travel to arrive at school safely; and provide information to vehicle operators on safe driving behaviors to practice in and around school zones and school routes for the grant period of Effective Date of Authorization through September 30, 2027; authorize the Sheriff to retroactively execute the award document; and direct Finance to make the necessary budget amendments.
