Please vote yes to canvass the recount.
I urge the County Commissioners to certify the results of the recount of the primary election. The board must not fall for the lies of election deniers. There is NO valid reason to not certify the recount results. Please do your jobs and don't listen to the enemies of democracy!
I am writing to ask the Board to canvass the recent vote. Please remember that you represent all constituents in your district in this County, not just the vocal minority. The recent vote has made our County a laughing stock nationally. Unfortunately, there is more credence given to an individual who moved to this community and decided to sew uncertainty in the process as well as his vocal followers than to the multitudes of citizens in this community who DO have faith in the process. To those who voted no on the last canvass, have you actually gone down the hall to the Registrar's office to educate yourself on the process? Have you taken the time to ask your questions away from the dias, or are you only willing to ask those questions to stir additional controversy and create lack of faith in the voting process. Do the right thing for our community and our Country and canvas this election.
I urge your Board to vote to certify the election and not to yield to the individuals making claims of voter fraud. Telling a lie again and again does not make it true. Claims of voter fraud have been litigated dozens and dozens of times across this country and have been found to be utterly baseless in virtually every case. Right wing activists like Mr. Beadles never make such claims in elections won by their candidate, only when they lose. Do your duty as elected officials and certify an election that you know to have been fairly conducted and counted.
To the Washoe County Commission,
I am deeply dismayed by your recent decision to vote against certifying the 2024 Primary election results. This action has outraged Washoe County residents and raised doubts about the integrity of our commission. As elected officials entrusted with upholding democratic principles, your refusal to certify raises serious concerns about competence or possible corruption.
The evidence suggests:
1. Lack of Transparency: The decision lacked transparency and public consultation, fostering suspicions of hidden agendas.
2. Political Interference: Credible reports indicate political interference, compromising the commission's impartiality.
3. Disregard for Legal Standards: Rejecting certification ignores legal standards, undermining democratic norms.
4. Pattern of Behavior: This incident reflects a broader pattern of integrity lapses.
Given these concerns, I urge each commissioner who voted against the certification, to resign promptly. Your continued tenure erodes public trust. I also call for an independent investigation into the certification decision to ensure accountability and restore faith in our electoral process.
Sincerely,
Farrell Vaughn
Now that there has been a recount, as requested by two candidates, the Board needs to canvass the results of the recount and declare the official results of the election. This is the only way that my vote, as well as everyone else's votes, will be counted in a democratic and fair election. Thank you for doing your jobs as Board Commissioners.
Dear Members of the Washoe County Commissioner Board,
I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding your recent decision not to certify legitimate votes in the primary election held on June 11, 2024. As a long time resident and educator of Washoe County, I believe it is crucial to uphold the integrity of our democratic process, which includes respecting and certifying all valid votes cast by eligible voters.
The decision not to certify legitimate votes undermines the fundamental principles of democracy and raises serious questions about the fairness and transparency of our electoral system. Every citizen has the right to have their vote counted, and any action that suppresses or disregards valid votes threatens the trust and legitimacy of our local government.
It is imperative that the County Commissioner Board fulfills its responsibility to ensure fair and accurate election results. By refusing to certify legitimate votes, you are disenfranchising voters and eroding public confidence in our electoral process. This decision sets a dangerous precedent and may have far-reaching consequences for our community's democratic values.
I urge the County Commissioner Board to reconsider this decision and take immediate action to rectify the situation. It is essential to uphold the rule of law and respect the will of the voters as expressed through their ballots. Transparency and accountability are paramount in maintaining public trust in our democratic institutions.
As a concerned citizen, I hope that you will prioritize the principles of democracy and act swiftly to certify all legitimate votes from the recent election. Our community deserves elected officials who are committed to upholding the integrity of our electoral system and ensuring that every vote counts.
Thank you for considering my concerns. I look forward to your prompt response and actions to address this critical issue.
Sincerely,
Jamie Vaughn

Commissioners Clark, Herman and Andriole: all you are doing with your feckless refusal to certify the canvass is to impede the regular democratic process for every citizen to have their vote count. I don't know how many times the voting process needs to be publicly applauded for its integrity in order to convince you that there are no conspiracies to snatch votes from your preferred candidates. It seems that you are paving the way for challenges to the process in November. I challenge you to fully research our voting process - just read the Registrar of Voters web pages on the security of the vote. Read the law. Read the full report. All you are doing is churning chaos with no valid basis in fact. You would be better served by actually knocking doors and talking to voters to persuade them to vote for your candidate of choice. And we would be better served by voting you out of office. I support the vote to accept the canvass.
